An ETA allows a construction product with an associated Attestation of Conformity to be placed on the market with CE marking. Attestation of Conformity with a technical specification (the ETA is a technical Specification) makes use of a set of methods of conformity control, the choice and combination of which give rise to six different Attestation of Conformity (AC) systems. (see table below) The AC system is decided by the EC for each individual product or product family and given in the mandate for an ETAG. When the AC procedure demonstrates conformity with the technical specification, the manufacturer can put the CE marking on his product.
* Not normally required under ETA route since Initial Type Testing is already dealt with as a part of the assessment for ETA When the AC procedure is in place, the manufacturer can put CE marking on his product.
